KEVELAIR Jet Aviation will open its new FBO and hangar complex at Arizona’s Scottsdale Airport this month.December 4, 2020, 9:41 AM Jet Aviation will debut its new FBO and hangar complex at Arizona’s Scottsdale Airport this month. Last year the company acquired a stake in the Scottsdale Jet Center project and later expanded that to include the entire location, which will be the third FBO on the field. It consists of an 8,500-sq-ft terminal and a 30,000-sq-ft hangar, which can accommodate aircraft up to a G650. “We have promised our customers that we will expand to locations where demand is high and are fully committed to delivering industry-leading services as required,” said David Best, the Switzerland-based company’s senior v-p of regional operations and U.S. general manager. “With Scottsdale Airport in the top 15 business aviation hubs in the U.S., this new opening underscores our commitment to strengthening our position as a leading FBO provider.” The company, which participated this week in NBAA-VBACE, has been busy of late expanding and enhancing its reach to aviation customers. “This is our sixth U.S. FBO network project in the past two years, including acquisitions in San Juan [Puerto Rico], Scottsdale, and Bozeman [Montana], coupled with hangar and FBO facility investments in Teterboro, Van Nuys, Palm Beach, and now the facility opening in Scottsdale,” noted v-p of business development and real estate Danny Larsen. “Built to complement existing facilities at Scottsdale Airport using cost- and energy-efficient construction practices, we further plan to install solar panels at the site next year.” When that facility opens by the end of the year, it will be Jet Aviation’s 33rd location worldwide, and of that total, 28 are currently registered under the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH)–the safety management system-based set of voluntary best practices for mitigating the potential for accidents. Ten of the company’s locations recently renewed their Stage 2 registration: Geneva and Zurich, Switzerland; Dusseldorf, Germany; Vienna, Austria; Dubai (DXB and DWC) UAE; Jeddah, Medina, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and Singapore. Over the past year, nine facilities earned their Stage 1 IS-BAH registration including its six FBOs in Australia, two in the Netherlands, and most recently, Yanbu in Saudi Arabia. “These developments are a great testament to the dedication and professionalism of our FBO teams across the network, particularly in light of the unexpected and ever-changing demands of Covid,” said Yew Chung Low,” the company’s v-p of quality, environment, health, safety, and security for EMEA. “I am very proud of them and their unwavering focus on meeting the needs of our customers.” * Business Aviation THEAIRCHARTERCOMPANY
